Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
Bloombi ("we", "us") is a mobile application that helps you organize and track care for your houseplants. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using Bloombi, you agree to the practices described here.
1. What we collect
- Account information. When you sign up we store your email address and an encrypted password (or your federated identifier if you sign in with a third-party provider).
- Profile preferences. Display name, temperature unit (Celsius/Fahrenheit), preferred reminder time, and other settings you configure inside the app.
- Plant data. Room layouts, plants, care schedules (watering, fertilizing, custom actions), journal notes, and completion history that you create in the app.
- Photos. Any photos you attach to plants or journal entries. Photos are stored in our file storage and are accessible only via short-lived signed URLs tied to your account.
- Device tokens. If you enable push notifications, we store the Firebase Cloud Messaging device token that lets us deliver reminders to your phone. We do not collect your phone number, contacts, or location.
- Diagnostic logs. We log non-personal request metadata (endpoint, timestamp, anonymized error details) to keep the service running. These logs are retained for a short period and are not used for profiling.
2. How we use your data
- To provide the core service — store your plants, generate care schedules, and deliver reminders.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To send push notifications you have explicitly enabled.
- To diagnose and fix bugs.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that profile users.
3. Third-party services
Bloombi relies on the following providers to deliver the service:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Subject to Supabase's privacy policy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notification delivery. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
- Vercel — application hosting. Subject to Vercel's privacy policy.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — distribution and in-app purchases (when applicable). Subject to each platform's privacy policy.
4. Where your data is stored
Data is processed and stored on cloud infrastructure in the regions our providers operate. By using Bloombi you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in these regions.
5. How long we keep your data
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data and content you created (plants, photos, notes, schedules) is removed from our active systems within 30 days. Encrypted backups containing your data may persist for up to 90 days before being overwritten.
6. Your rights
- Access and export. You can view your data inside the app at any time. To request an export, email support@bloombi.app.
- Correction. Edit your profile and plant data directly in the app.
- Deletion. Delete your account from the app's settings screen, or email us. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
- Withdraw consent. Disable push notifications, photos, or any optional feature in the app's settings.
If you are in the EU/EEA, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with applicable data-protection laws, you have additional rights granted by local law. Contact us to exercise them.
7. Children
Bloombi is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data — encrypted transport (HTTPS), encrypted storage at rest, and access controls on our infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to minimize risk.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
